Merry Christmas to me!

Hope you had a great Christmas with family, loads of food and presents! I was surely spoiled rotten! I got the AA carry-all leather pouch in the color stone from the people @ my job, got Marc Jacobs' Lola from my parents, two Catrice nail polishes, the Victor & Rolf Fairytales book & lots more!

To top it off I ordered this Marc Jacobs Wishbone necklace as a present to myself (ooooh so wrong!)

One special polish

Lately Ive been going crazy over nail polishes; in a few months Ive bought so many polishes (mostly on eBay) that I had to find a new solution for storing them as they didnt fit in my drawer anymore - oops! I mostly buy O.P.I. and China Glaze polishes, but now I ordered a duochrome polish by Orly from their Cosmic FX Collection called Space Cadet... and I already know that Im going to love this one! Reminds me of the color of beatles (no, not the band)!

What do you think? Would you wear this polish?

Chanel icy blue polish dupe?

Remember when I told you about Chanel's limited edition nail polish for the coming winter?

Well its not even out yet but I hope that I already found a dupe for it... it's called 'vintage blue' by Avon and I bought it on eBay. And the nail polish addict that I am, I also got 'urban grey' by Avon which seems like a really nice faded greyish white. Great colors for the winter I say! Anyone who has experience with Avon polishes?

From rusty browns to powder blues

Nail polish inspiration for fall '10
Lots of greys, rusty redish browns, camels and dark greyish purples. My favorites are Paradoxal by Chanel and OPI's Java Mauve-a!

In addition to these lovely colors, Im liking the Les Khakis de Chanel collection, especially 'khaki vert'. Unfortunately this collection will not be coming out in the Netherlands though.

Nail polish inspiration for Winter '10

After Jade, Particulière, Nouvelle Vague and Paradoxal, this winter's Chanel limited nail polish will be the powder blue nail polish that was featured in the Chanel Cruise 2011 fashion show back in the spring. Alexa Chung has already been caught on camera with baby blue nails. I think its lovely and I will probably run to the store when it comes out!

Which colors will you be wearing on your nails this fall and winter?

I ♥ my new shorts! Especially the faux leather shorts that I managed to snipe this morning - I thought that it would probably already been sold out! Yay! The search for the perfect faux leather skirt continues though.. I thought I had found a cheap one at H&M's, but the fit turned out to be horrific unfortunately!

Can't ever have enough nail polishes!

So I was looking for HEMA nailpolish, and I mean THE HEMA nail polish... the famous green one that is completely sold out throughout the country (so frustrating!):

So after some saleswoman at the HEMA quite annoyingly teased me by saying that she actually had it herself, I was like, you know what? Ill probably find some other nice green colors from like OPI or Essie or something. And I found China Glaze's Four Leaf Clover (this one looks a lot like the HEMA one that Ive been looking for it seems), Catrice's Sold Out Forever (the name is actually referring to Chanel's Jade nail polish!) and China Glaze's For Audrey (can't believe that I didnt have this last one yet, Im completely Audrey and Breakfast at Tiffany's obsessed! I love the idea of having Tiffany's blue nails ♥). And while I was at it I also picked up Secret Periwinkle by China Glaze ;)

 What do you think of 'em?

Soooooooooooo.....

Where to start? I realize that Ive been away for quite some time! I have been trying to focus on graduating the last month, and with great results; I will be able to hand in my LL.M. thesis either today or tomorrow and my supervisor is pretty satisfied with it already so Im pretty excited about graduating!

Also I went on a 3 week trip to Indonesia... we started off in Jakarta, which was pretty horrible because the city might just be the worst place in the entire world. It is dirty, the traffic is insane and there is a lot of poverty. Oh yeah, and I also got robbed day 1 - lost my passport, iPod, mobile phone, camera, and some other stuff. Not a good start. And the Dutch Consulate wasnt very helpful either, anyway...

Then we took the train to Yogyakarta - on the way there we saw a lot of beautiful landscapes, rice terraces, very very pretty. Yogyakarta was a lot more pleasant than Jakarta - it is a more green, clean and less poor city. We went to see the Borobudur - a huge ancient Buddhist temple.

We then hopped on a flight to Bali (Sanur) where we treated ourselves to a few lazy beachdays. From Bali we took a boat to the Gili Islands, which are three very little islands on the coast of Lombok - and let me tell you, within 1 week we saw both the worst place on earth (Jakarta) to the most beautiful place on earth... We stayed on Gili Trawangan which is the biggest island of the three, and its still extremely small.

On Gili we snorkelled with sea turtles and multicolored fish - we had the best fresh fish at night - experienced the best parties at night... all in all; it was pretty fucking amazing! After 5 days of snorkelling, laying on the beach, eating & partying we went back to Bali for another few days in Ubud, which is somewhat of the cultural centre of Bali;

the finest Balinese culture can be found here. After 2 days of Ubud we had to leave for Jakarta again. Although we pretty much hated the city first time around, it turned into a somewhat love/hate relationship as we discovered the AMAZING shoppingmalls on our last day there; from Topshop to Chanel and Nine West to Armani to Forever 21 - THEY ARE ALL THERE! Unfortunately my credit card was also stolen on the first day in Jakarta so I really had to hold myself back :( So there you have it, a little update of my life ;)

Thakoon Fall 2010

I love THAKOON's sense of designing, his sense of fashion. I especially love these designs from his fall collection - there were MANY more great designs but unfortunately they all had fur in/on them - use faux fur Thakoon! Do you know any designers that do not use fur at all? Apart from Stella?

Gisele Ganne

I just discovered Gisele Ganne's jewellery in April's UK Harper's Bazaar - she makes mourning and divorce jewellery - how cool is that? I love the combination of eerie gold bird skulls with (pastel) colored flowers!

{Nr. 1 and 4 are my favorites! What do you think of them?}
